DP Assembly

24th January, 2017

This month’s assembly was on Republic Day. The assembly began with an inspiring thought and then it moved on to the speeches by DP1 students. These highlighted the importance of Republic Day and it also made us aware about different facts on Constitution of India and about the progression of India in the past 68 years. These were also connected to some of the IB learner profiles. The speeches were declamatory and articulating. The quiz which came up next   tested everyone’s knowledge present in the room relating to Indian Republic. Next we had a mesmerizing dance performed by DP1 students. The dance was quite entertaining and it transported the audience into the world of performing art. Next we had certificate distribution to commend the efforts of students in Inter House events. A small speech was delivered by our Assistant DPC and she linked IB learner profiles with Constitution of India. The speech was very much centralized on IB learner profiles and IB mission statement. After that the whole DP1 sang the patriotic songs “Satyamev Jayate” and “Jai Ho”. The songs were sung with great enthusiasm. Lastly we ended our assembly by singing National Anthem to pay tribute to the motherland and hail the spirit of Indianness.
