Service Activity Undertaken by DP1 Students at SBI, Choithram Hospital Branch
Students of DP 16-18 Batch undertook a CAS Service activity to help out the community in their time of physical struggle while waiting in long queues to exchange old notes / withdraw money as the nation was witnessing demonetization.
The Deputy Manager of the Branch briefed the students on how to fill in Withdrawal Slips and Deposit Slips, and the students proceeded to help the people to fill out the details on slips / documents.
They also distributed water bottles to those in queues and collected the empty bottles for the ongoing Green School project.
The students spent time interacting with the people, asking them about their opinions on demonetization and discussing pros and cons.
All the people and the bank personnel appreciated this initiative by our students and were genuinely moved by the caring attitude they displayed.
This service  went on for  4-5 days, until the crowd started somewhat lessening. This activity very well exhibited the attribute of Caring which instilled a sense of empathy in the learners and made them realize the importance of lending a helping hand in the hour of need.
