It is interesting to learn new cultures and heritages, but it is quite important to be aware of one's own culture, history and heritage before any other. To show the students importance and brilliance of their own country, Choithram International organized 'Sneak A Peek Movie Week', whereby students from PYP,MYP and DP were shown informative documentaries over 3rd to 5th October,2016.
There were two documentaries shown to DP students. The first one was directed and filmed by a college student currently majoring in Journalism. It presented the beauty of Kashmir and the passion filled inside the people of Kashmir. It documented how various art students from diverse fields came together to syndicate their talent in various forms including art, music, rap, and songs. It was a beautifully documented film that showed how artists can decorate even a war zone like Kashmir with their passion.
The second documentary presented was a BBC documented film "The Story of India" about the rich history of India and how the nation came to be. It portrayed the formation of India and how rulers of different backgrounds ruled this vast nation. It provided and insight into the history of our country, India.
The students learned a lot about their country and its citizens through the documentaries and look forward to gain knowledge through similar documentaries.
