CIMUN Training

After attending the multiple-sessions MUN training organised by the school, it can surely be said that this was one of the very best experiences that one can have in the field of learning. This training revolved around the principle of experiential learning, something that the IB holds very dear.

Students were given the opportunity to present their thoughts on various global issues in front of their schoolmates and the trainers, and were naturally taught to consider others’ views. The very friendly attitude of the trainers led to a better and open expression of thoughts by the students. The activity was a fun, enriching one and enhanced the attributes of an IB learner in the students, namely inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, open-minded and reflective.

In another session, the students were divided into three groups for further training: delegates, the executive board and the organizing committee. In the delegate session, the students engaged in thought-provoking discussions on various global issues, delved a little into the world’s history, talked about what provides a delegate his substance and were told where they currently stand, and how to reach where they want to see themselves as MUNners. Alike the previous session, this session was imbibed with the IB learner profiles and ATL skills too. The training, in such less time, has inspired the students to learn and explore much, much more.
