Inculcating IB Philosophy

These four months of school have been unimaginably enthusiastic and encouraging for me. The activities and events organized by the school as well as the students have nurtured me more than ever. As I have been a CBSE board student since the beginning , am new to the IB philosophy and curriculum but ever since I have joined the school, the tutor class has fed my inquisitiveness about this board. The interactive sessions during the tutor class and various TOK discussions in many other classes have helped me widen my horizon and made me realize that there are two sides of every story.

During one such interactive discussion, we came across the UN World Tourism Day and decided to promote tourism of our respective area. We visited certain sites of archaeological importance and made a certain questionnaire for the students of our school to know how much they actually knew about these monuments. To our surprise, half the students didn’t know anything about those monuments. That’s when we realized that we have taken the right decision of spreading awareness about our dilapidating heritage sites.

We even presented our efforts supported by documentaries and presentations in front of the school to prove that our efforts were not going in vain. Not just this project we have even initiated lots of CAS fundraising activities which inculcated the IB learner attributes more deeply in my mind and helped me to think more creatively and how to be more confident about myself and my ideas
