Independence Day
15th August, 2016
On 15th August 2016, Choithram International along with the entire nation celebrated the Indian Independence Day. Our Head of School, Mr.Dilip Vasu, proudly hoisted the Indian national flag followed by the Indian national anthem sung by the whole school. The Head of School delivered an enlightening speech on independence which gave us an insight into the history of our country. As a homage to our nation, CI organized an inter-house dance competition. It was not a competition, rather a display of patriotism of the students of CI. The competition was judged by four teachers: Ms. Jyoti Ajmera, Ms. Chetna Lakhwani, Ms. Pooja Jayan and Ms. Gursheen Kaur. The importance of freedom in our country was conveyed through various dance and musical performances. Independence Day reminds us of the struggles our freedom fighters went through to provide us a free country. The celebration of it is not for entertainment purposes rather a reminder to protect this country and take this country to greater heights.
