Career Counseling Session

Diploma Programme is a gateway to future careers of budding citizens.On Saturday July 16, 2016, DP 2 had a counseling session. Parents were invited along with the students to take guidance for placement in universities in India and abroad. Students were asked to bring a copy of their transcripts (9th, 10th, and DP1), and their resume. The sessions were taken by the University Counselor of our school, Mrs. Neeta Mishra, and representative from Naviance, Mr. Abishek Duttaray. During the session, students were assisted through a step by step procedure for applying for universities; Writing SOPs, sending application, which teacher to look for LORs, entrance exams in India (IIT-JEE, AIPMT, etc.) and Abroad (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, etc.), scores required to get into a specific university, financial aid, when to apply, etc.
Apart from university counseling, parents and students were also assisted through the core component of DP – EE, TOK, and CAS. Where the progress of student, and the component in general, were discussed.
The sessions were fruitful and very important for the students of DP-2, since they will be applying for the universities soon, and a counseling can help them to know where, when, and how to apply for their dream universities!
